Southern Mid-Coast Maine

Situated on the coast of Maine, the southern Mid-Coast area is just 2 ½ hours from Boston, and conveniently located between the state’s major population centers. The area includes the communities of Brunswick, Bath, Durham, Pownal, Harpswell, Freeport, Lisbon Falls, Topsham, Bowdoinham, West Bath, Bowdoin, Richmond, Phippsburg, Wiscasset, and Woolwich. These picturesque communities create a special blend of small town coastal living with upscale shopping, health care and cultural attributes. The area also includes Merrymeeting Bay, a large fresh water confluence of six rivers, the Kennebec, the Androscoggin, the Cathance, the Eastern, the Muddy, the Abbagadasset, and many smaller streams. The Sheepscot River and the New Meadows River are also important waterways for boating enthusiasts. Harpswell is comprised of 2 rocky peninsulas and connected islands which project into Casco Bay. Route 1 and I-295 provide easy access to Portland, 25 miles south (30 minutes driving time). Bath is northeast of Brunswick on Route 1, 8 miles (10 minutes driving time); Augusta is 30 miles north by I-295.
